NO RETURN POLICY
Barrie police say a woman attempted to scam the customer service department at the south-end Wal-Mart not once, but twice, with two different items, on Saturday.
Police, who were already at the store for an unrelated shoplifting incident, were alerted by store security after they watched the woman pick up a child car seat and attempt to return the new seat to customer service. When her plan didn't work, police say she then picked up a child's camera and again tried to return the new item, telling store staff the camera was broken. She was attempting to obtain a store credit on a purchase card. At this point, story security arrested her and turned her over to police.
She was charged with fraud under $5,000. Police say she had stole about $340 worth of merchandise.
