Belief in angels soaring

Cecily Channer believes in guardian angels - and she's not alone.

According to a recent Gallop poll, 82% of women and 72% of men believe in angels.

Channer is author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Connecting With Your Angels (Alpha) and you're no idiot if you're captivated by these unseen spiritual guides.

Angels are all around us, says the angelic communicator, and all you have to do is ask and you shall receive. "Each person on earth is being served and supported by the angelic realm," through good times and bad," says Channer, of divineartistry.com.

Connecting with angels is life changing, contends the certified angel therapy practitioner. "When the angels enter our lives, building closer relationships, finding success, and experiencing joy all become less of a struggle and more of a way of life."

Believe and you shall receive: "At any time we can ask for angelic guidance and assistance in our daily life. No request is too big or too small, if it is the will of God. The angels' main goals are to help, protect, heal, as well as, raise the consciousness level of all humanity."

She says that when things are just not working for us, angels "serve as a loving light and presence in the storms of our lives, helping us recognize our inborn power, courage, and deep understanding to wisely navigate through our days and get back on track."

According to Channer, we live in difficult times.

"Uncertainty and fear is washing over so many. The angelic realm wants to be of service to each and every one of us to assist in eradicating our fears and bringing more peace into our lives."

Channer uses her intuitive skills to help others explore and connect to the angels.

"Sometimes the angels show me a quick vision or symbol in my mind's eye, other times I hear words telepathically, or I just instantly know a bit of information to pass on to my student or client," says Channer, adding that occasionally, angels will show themselves to her when it's appropriate or necessary for a higher purpose.

Meanwhile, she's not dissuaded by non-believers.

"I do feel like I am in good company though, since recent polls show that there is a higher percentage of people who believe in angels than those that do not. Many have felt protected, assisted and supported by an angelic force."

She adds that it may well be blind faith when you first call the angels in to your life but it does not stay 'blind'.

"You do see the positive synchronicities and miracles start to take place."

And those who don't believe can still receive: "Those that do not believe in the concept of a guardian angel still have angels standing by in non-judgment. Our guardian angels wait patiently for the day that we may choose to invite them into our lives."

Angels 101

There are three major types of angels:

Guardian angels:Assigned to us before we are born, guardian angels are there to watch over us. We usually have two or more guardian angels. They are ever present; but we decide how much influence they wield. They come to our aid when we are in danger or in situations where we may die before our time.

Archangels:These are the bigwigs -they organize and direct the angels. Created at the beginning of time, their main goal is to usher in peace on Earth, one person at a time. They each have a purpose: Archangel Michael is known for protection and truth; Archangel Raphael's purpose is healing.

Helper Angels:On the front lines, these worker bees are part of the angelic team that help with issues like anxiety, conflict and courage when you must take a risk.

Angels do not wear halos.

Angels are not aligned with a particular religion -they are universal and non-denominational.

Angelic healing is actually God's healing. Love is the most powerful source of healing.

Angels have never been human. They were created at the beginning of time.
